Constant expansion iron-nickel alloy has a certain coefficient of linear thermal expansion within a certain temperature range.
Application: It is used for matching and sealing with soft glass or corresponding ceramics in the electro-vacuum industry.
The density of this alloy is ρ=8.12g/cm³.
The product varieties are: cold-rolled strip, cold-rolled plate, cold-drawn wire, cold-drawn (rolled) tube, hot-rolled (forged) flat, wire rod, hot-rolled (forged) bar, and cold-drawn bar.
Applicable standard: YB/T 5235-2005.
NILO alloy 42(UNS K94100/ W.N.1.3917), a binary nickel-iron alloy, contains 42% nickel. It has a low and nominally constant coefficient of expansion within the temperature range of 20-300℃(85570°F). It is used in tool alloys for aerospace composite materials, thermostat rods, semiconductor lead frames, thermostatic bimetallic strips, as well as glass sealing applications for microelectronic components, vacuum equipment and light bulbs.
