Incoloy 945 alloy is a high-strength and corrosion-resistant alloy, specifically designed for the demanding applications in the oil and gas industry. The content of molybdenum, copper, niobium, titanium and aluminum in this age-hardened nickel-iron-chromium alloy enhances its performance. The nickel content of Incoloy 945 alloy gives it the ability to resist stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorine. The combination of nickel with molybdenum and copper also endows alloy 945 with excellent general corrosion resistance in reducing media. Molybdenum also endows the alloy with resistance to local attacks (pitting and crevice corrosion). The chromium content in the alloy provides resistance in oxidizing environments. Niobium, titanium and aluminium participate in the aging hardening reaction that occurs during heat treatment. Their interaction forms and “two-phase precipitation”, thereby enhancing the alloy.
The density of this alloy is ρ=8.20g/cm³.
