Inconel 718 alloy has the following characteristics:
- Easy processability
It has high tensile strength, fatigue strength, creep strength and fracture strength at 700℃
It has high oxidation resistance at 1000℃ - It has stable chemical properties at low temperatures
- Good welding performance
Metallographic structure of Inconel 718:
Alloy 718 has an austenitic structure. The α phase formed after precipitation hardening endows it with excellent mechanical properties. The δ phase formed at the product boundary during heat treatment gives it the best plasticity.
Corrosion resistance of Inconel 718:
Whether in high or low temperature environments, 718 alloy has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. The oxidation resistance of 718 alloy is particularly outstanding at high temperatures.
