Monel alloy K-500(UNS N05500/ W.N.2.4375) is a nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel alloy 400 with the additional advantages of higher strength and hardness. Enhanced performance is achieved by adding aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper matrix and heating it under controlled conditions to precipitate sub-micron particles of Ni3(Ti, AI) throughout the matrix. The heat treatment used to achieve precipitation is usually called aging hardening or aging.
Typical applications of Monel alloy K-500 products include: chains and cables, fasteners and springs for Marine services; Pump and valve components for chemical processing; Blades and scrapers used for pulp treatment in papermaking production; Oil well drilling casing and instruments, pump shafts and impellers, non-magnetic casings, safety lifts and valves for oil and gas production; And sensors and other electronic components.

The density of this alloy is ρ=8.44/cm³.
